LEONARD JONES
Born and raised in Texas, Leonard moved to Southern California in
1984. Having a keen affinity for attracting people with his exuberant personality as well
as a natural 'gift for gab,' Leonard knew Southern California was exactly where he needed
to be.
The glitz and glamour of Hollywood soon became a source of inspiration for
Leonard when he began painting portraits in front of the Cafe Tu Tu Tango restaurant at
Universal City Walk - Hollywood, CA. His portraits of well-known celebrities and the
popular faces of TV, film and music quickly drew the attention of the general public as
well as the interest of the entertainment industry. Crowds would gather around his
easel to watch in amazement as the face of a familiar celebrity began to appear before
their very eyes, becoming more and more life like from one moment to the next. Some
of his famous clients include Rebecca Romjin, Dr. Dre, Isabella Fiore, Michael Jackson,
Universal Music and numerous recording artists under the Interscope, Geffen and A&M
record labels.
Leonard has since returned to Oils, the medium he loves the most. Not
only the richness and depth of its color, but above all else, it's manipulative
capabilities. Mixing and blending. The movement of paint across canvas.
Various stages of different ideas that have come and gone within a day, within an
instant. Whether resembling a tattered billboard with old ideas peeking through or a
virgin canvas holding it's breath in anticipation of that first touch of the brush,
Leonard believes that buried deep within the heart and soul of every artist, there's a
masterpiece just waiting to happen.
Highly collectible and increasingly popular, Leonard's wine, cigar and
gambling artworks can be found in many Fine Art Galleries throughout Southern California
and Las Vegas, including Galerie Michelangelo in Caesar's Palace and the MGM Grand Hotel
& Casino.
